By “what they already do” are we talking about red states taking the government handouts and pretending they aren’t taking blue state money to survive and thus blue states will sit back and do nothing about it? That’s been the current status quo. Blue states need governors who will start withholding funds from fed government who is funneling them to red states and let them “cook” with their own shit economies. The president keeps withholding disaster relief for Blue states and terminating renewable contracts for those same states. Fuck the out of control federal government. Make Red States clean up their own house before asking for money.

I was asking his version because regardless of the actual definition, i wanted to make sure i was responding to it as he views it. I don’t know if you realize it but 90% of this country can’t tell me the difference between socialism, communism, capitalism, fascism or any other ism. People that are self identifying as “socialist” or “capitalist” or any other definition often don’t understand nuance

I truly appreciate the response. I’ll be honest. What most people are being called “socialist” for are those who are asking for the same or similar system that existed from 1940-1970. I’m not convinced that even self described socialists know what they truly are. I’m not sure anyone should be boxed in. In my humble opinion, the real root cause of all the isms is that this version of this ism isn’t self correcting no matter who is in charge. The piece of the pie that working Americans continues to shrink while we print into inflation over and over. Unbacked, fiat currencies that can be created with the click of a mouse is the absolute, unequivocally the #1 issue. Problem is, to solve it now is going to be a shit show. It needs to happen but there will be massive pain. On that note, Almost every culture and massive social divide in the country is massively minimized when people feel secure financially. We can blame it on a multitude of reasons but when you go from 40% to 10% of the overall supply of money for the working class AND you print money and inflated the hell out of everything, you could get rid of all the migrants and replace them with 30 million America babies and it doesn’t solve the problem. Kids are massively struggling and they haven’t seen a system that has functioned like they were told it would if they worked hard. That being said, we are not shrinking the government. We are now taking stakes in companies, and we are subsidizing companies that have no business being subsidized and paying for endless bullshit wars. We pushed the kids to extremes and no one existing party has produced any meaningful solutions to solve it.
