Democratic Socialists of America candidates are now running in Delaware. Chris Beardsley is challenging Chris Coons in the U.S. Senate primary. Shané Darby is running for State House District 1. Shay Frisby is running for State Senate District 5. Here are 5 of their official platform positions: “Establish public ownership of the largest corporations and essential industries” “End ICE detention and deportations” and “grant amnesty for all immigrants regardless of status” “Steps towards fully abolishing the police and prison system” “Enact aggressive wealth taxes on the richest individuals and corporations” Abolish the U.S. Senate and “replace the president and Supreme Court with an executive and judiciary chosen by and subordinate to Congress” Public ownership of corporations and massive new taxes would destroy Delaware’s corporate franchise, which brings in over $2 billion every year and makes up nearly a third of our state budget. Republicans have been warning for years that unchecked Democrat policies were damaging Delaware’s corporate haven status. The New York Times recently confirmed what we said all along. Companies are leaving because of excessive lawsuits, unpredictable rulings, and higher costs created under one-party Democrat rule. Elon Musk led the way by moving Tesla and SpaceX to Texas. Now Andreessen Horowitz, Coinbase, Dropbox, and Dell are following. Delaware’s corporate franchise generates critical revenue and supports good jobs. If DExit continues, we lose that advantage. The radical left is coming for Delaware. Democratic Socialists of America candidates are flooding Democratic primaries across the state. These are not mainstream Democrats. They are openly pushing socialist policies that would wreck the very system that makes Delaware work. Working families would feel it first. Higher taxes. More government control. Fewer jobs. Rising costs on everything from housing to energy. Socialist policies have destroyed opportunity wherever they have been tried. But the real target is Delaware’s corporate status. Our state’s business-friendly laws and Court of Chancery are why so many companies incorporate here. That status drives billions in revenue and supports thousands of jobs. Socialist policies would replace that with higher taxes, heavy regulation, and hostility to business. Companies would leave. Revenue would collapse. Delaware families would pay the price. This is what one-party Democrat rule has allowed to grow. Radical left candidates are no longer on the fringe. They are running to take over the Democratic Party and then the state. Governor @MattMeyerDE is following Gov. Gavin Newsom’s failed playbook and making Delaware unaffordable for working families. As New Castle County Executive, Meyer helped create a massive structural deficit by using temporary federal funds to pay for ongoing expenses. Now that those funds are gone, the county is forced to push a 17 percent property tax hike to close the gap he helped create. This is the same pattern Newsom perfected in California. Higher spending. Bigger government. And then massive tax increases dumped on families when the bills come due. The results are everywhere. Electric bills up 9 percent. Rising utility costs. Foreclosed homes. Stacks of higher energy and property tax bills hitting homeowners. One-party Democrat rule under Meyer is delivering the same outcomes we see in California. Higher costs. Worse results. The bill would allow select schools to use AI for personalized tutoring and real-time student support, while Extended Reality (XR) creates immersive learning experiences in science, history, and career training. The goal is simple: more personalized learning for every student, higher attendance, improved academic outcomes, and less administrative burden on teachers. 🚨 TAX TO THE FUTURE… and New Castle County Democrats are behind it all. On May 26th, the Democrat-run New Castle County government approved a budget built around a 17.2% property tax hike for unincorporated county residents, plus a 5% sewer rate increase. County officials say this is needed to deal with a projected $42 million structural deficit, but families are the ones being asked to pay the bill. This is what happens under one-party Democrat rule: spending goes up, taxes go up, and working families are told to just deal with it. And let’s be honest. If Democrats are willing to raise property taxes now in an election year, what’s next? More fees? More rate hikes? More “temporary” increases that never go away? Delawareans deserve balance. We deserve accountability. We deserve leaders who know that government should live within its means, not keep reaching into your wallet. It’s time to put Republicans back in the room and restore balance to New Castle County and Delaware.
