I congratulate the NRM flagbearers in the Parish Women Council Elections who secured an overwhelming victory across the country.
According to results obtained from 135 of the 146 districts, the NRM won 47,405 seats, followed by Independent candidates with 1,688 seats, while other political parties collectively secured 693 seats.
These results are a clear testimony to the NRM’s strong grassroots support and the confidence Ugandans continue to place in the party’s leadership.
I therefore encourage all elected NRM women representatives to actively participate in the party primaries today, Wednesday, August 12, 2026, to select flagbearers for the upcoming Sub-County Women Council Elections.
Congratulations once again to all the victorious flagbearers. Let us continue strengthening women’s leadership and grassroots mobilisation

Today, led by Pastor Samuel Kajoba, President of the Uganda Union Mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, we met with the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja, to discuss Cabinet Circular No. 1 of 2026 concerning National Cleaning Day and its implications for members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
We are pleased to have reached consensus with the Government to allow our fellow SDA brothers and sisters to participate in nationwide cleaning activities on the last Sunday of every month, instead of Saturday.
We will continue to faithfully observe the Sabbath from sunset on Friday to sunset on Saturday, in accordance with our beliefs and religious practice.
I sincerely thank Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja and the NRM Government for listening to and addressing the concerns raised by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. We appreciate this spirit of dialogue, understanding, and respect for religious freedom.
May this consensus strengthen the partnership between the SDA Church and Government as we work together for the good of our communities and nation.
Earlier today, I was hosted by @sanyukatv for a constructive and engaging discussion on the resolutions of the NRM Parliamentary Caucus and H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s guidance on the fight against corruption.
I also commended the efforts of Local Government Minister Balaam Barugahara and State Minister Justine Nameere in advancing the fight against corruption and promoting accountability in public service.
During the programme, I shared with viewers the impressive performance of the NRM in the LC1 and Women Councils elections, highlighting the party’s continued grassroots strength and connection with the people.
Thank you, Sanyuka TV, for the opportunity and for hosting me. I appreciate the platform and the meaningful conversation.
The Electoral Commission has designated 10th August 2026 for the LC II Chairperson elections.
I urge all NRM members from village councils to vote for the official NRM flag bearers. A strong vote for our flag bearers will help ensure effective coordination and implementation of the Government’s programmes as outlined in the NRM Manifesto.
LC II Chairpersons play a crucial role in local governance and in the implementation of the Parish Development Model (PDM), where they also serve as Chairpersons of Parish Development Committees.
For PDM and other Government programmes to be implemented effectively, we need leaders who understand and are committed to the NRM’s ideology, policies and development agenda.
Let us therefore make an informed choice and vote for the @NRMOnline flag bearers tomorrow to strengthen service delivery and accelerate development in our communities.
Today, I attended the Parliamentary Caucus meeting at Speke Resort Munyonyo, chaired by H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni (@KagutaMuseveni).
During his address, H.E. guided the Caucus on strengthening the fight against corruption in the health sector and Parish Development Model (PDM).
The President also emphasized the critical role of Members of Parliament in monitoring government programmes to ensure they are effectively implemented and deliver tangible benefits to the people.
Together, as @NRMOnline we remain committed to promoting accountability, improving service delivery, and advancing Uganda's socio-economic transformation.
Earlier today, I attended the National Youths Parliament, where I encouraged young people to make the most of the leadership opportunities available to them.
Leadership is more than holding a position—it is an opportunity to learn, to serve, to grow, and to prepare for greater responsibility. Every role, no matter how small, provides a chance to develop the character, skills, and experience needed to make a lasting impact.
I urged the young participants to remain determined in pursuing their dreams, to maximize every opportunity that comes their way, and to remember that the journey from being a young leader to becoming a decision-maker begins with how they choose to use the opportunities before them today.
The future belongs to those who lead with purpose, integrity, and a genuine commitment to serving others.
