This move is a true game-changer. By granting local governments direct control over their resources, it empowers them to address their communities’ immediate needs, such as funding schools, improving local healthcare, and repairing community infrastructure. Putting resources directly into the hands of the tier of government closest to the people is the most effective way to foster genuine growth at the grassroots level. To my brethren in the North who criticize President Tinubu: is he truly the one to blame for local challenges? The answer is no. Instead of opposition, we should champion his policies. He has empowered the very leaders, our local government chairmen and councilors, who are best positioned to deliver results for our people. If we face problems in our communities, we must hold our local leaders accountable, not the President. It is ironic that many people overlook the performance of their local councilors and chairmen, only to blame the President for local failures. It is time we start demanding accountability where it matters most: right here at home, from the ward and local government levels. Fahad Dankabo
