Pro sports is entertainment. That’s basically all it is. When you ask me to watch and root for a guy who gives me deep, deep misgivings, you are doing a worse job entertaining me. You are making me feel conflicted. You are putting a damper on the fun I might have at a game. I am generally pretty good at ‘separating the art from the artist.’ But there are limits.
