@marxcallipyge That is bizarre. Enneagram and ability to do a job are unrelated. While the Enneagram isn't scientifically based, I have found a lot of personal validation and useful language in it. It sad to see it's going the way of the MBTI- used incorrectly for corporate nonsense.

@marxcallipyge Totally get sacrificing the battle to win the war. What are the actionable steps to do that? How do we "do the thing" and not just rationalize ourselves into inaction by idealizing future perfection over current practicality? I am constantly torn between these two.

@walkerelijahm I remember the existential vertigo of losing my faith. I'm so sorry for your pain and I hope your time with the farm is grounding. It's been 13 years for me since I left fully and so much has changed, but I will always remember that as one of the hardest times in my life.

@lura_groen @NotLasers @KivanBay I'm a binary trans man and same for me, too! Not necessarily aesthetically, but I'm way more able to be emotionally vulnerable, willing to apologize, and just generally less toxically masculine now that I've accepted myself, and am seen by most, as a man. It's wonderful!

OP is saying it's not the only real experience and, because it is one of the more privileged versions of transmasc xp's, it's both erasing others' XPs and shaming those who don't fit it.

@kett1ekat @itsjacksonbbz I don't think people are unaware of this so much as can't afford to do it or don't have the skill. I could be wrong, though, because I can sew and fashion is a bit of a hobby for me. So, maybe I just think people know this, because I do. Agreed that it's a game changer, though!

Thoughts on this idea? Group work in social justice necessarily involves mutual aid, which allows us to collectively solve problems using our individual areas of resource while compensating for each others' limitations, ultimately decreasing burnout while increasing efficacy.

@Ardeee07 @zekedrinkswater Yes! I also accepted that I'm autistic recently, after about a year into medical transition. So much sensory sensitivity was ignored by dissociating due to dysphoria, among a lot of other changes that lead to this awareness.

@zekedrinkswater I have become (and am becoming) significantly more gentle, unapologetically emotional, and kind to myself and others. Aka... I am letting go of toxic masculinity as I become the man I want to be.

@TransAvalanche Interestingly, instead of feeling shame for something you had no control over, you could choose to feel pride over how well you handled it. This is a big trauma mind fuck- feeling shame at the exact moment pride would make more sense.

@TransAvalanche This is a really useful parallel to trauma. In DBT, we say, "you didn't cause your trauma and you're the only one who can change things now," because we often confuse responsibility for blame. You were made responsible for the solution; thus, you felt you were to blame.
