You clearly don't understand what the department of education actually is. We're not talking about teachers or schools here. The dept. of ed. is a bloated, mega bureaucracy made up of administrators who micro manage schools across the country, making a one size fits all model, which has proven to be completely dysfunctional and inefficient. They also take billions from the budget in salary. Instead of this federal model, each state should be responsible for their own schools. It still won't be good but will probably be better.

@SensStifler It's always been this way in pro sports. Small market teams are farm teams for the big markets. Don't like it, pick a different team. I still enjoy watching the Sens even though I know they'll never win a cup.
