@simonw @GergelyOrosz You are not going to discover it since it’s impossible without deeply thinking about code, but for many games great game design is directly driven by great system architecture. Gameplay systems emerge out of naturally interacting code paths. You aren’t vibe coding that.

@NymPseudo @olson_dan My experience with java software (both writing and using) says otherwise, the code is usually idiomatic and yet performance is terrible and startup times are horrific. On a larger scale you get massive amounts of pointer chasing, branch misprediction and memory overhead.
