@skeleoncemore @BoldfaceJames It's not trying to do it, it does do it. I've played it, it came across. Michael, Trevor, and Franklin are very nuanced protagonists, the most the series has had by far and I just do not understand people who are bored by the story missions or don't connect with them.

@skeleoncemore @BoldfaceJames It shows how utterly disconnected he is with all of them, we see in the yoga mission that he's actually making an attempt to connect but it's too late. Spending these uneventful moments with these characters helps build them up in ways the previous games were unable to.

@skeleoncemore @BoldfaceJames A cutscene would just be rushed. We're meant to be with Michael as he makes an actual attempt to connect with his wife and son and fucks it up. The drive is part of the experience and the parachute part is easily abortable if you want to rush it rather than meditate in it
