After the seals break open with sword, famine, death, and cosmic terror, John sees something that does not fit a straight timeline. Four messengers hold the four winds of the earth. Another messenger rises with the seal of the living God and cries out: do not injure the land, the sea, or the trees until we seal the servants of our God on their foreheads. That is Ezekiel 9 again. Before Jerusalem fell in 586, a man in a robe marked the foreheads of those who sighed over the city's lawlessness. The unmarked were destroyed. The marked were spared. Revelation 7 is not a new decoder ring for our headlines. It is the prophets' pattern replayed: wrath is coming, but first God marks his own. The winds wait for the seal. Chapter 6 ends with horsemen and wrath. Chapter 7 opens with four angels holding the winds back. Judgment waits. First the servants of God get a seal on their foreheads. Same pattern as Ezekiel 9. The mark goes on the ones who grieve over the wickedness. Then the destroyers are released. More at noon.

Solomon says: do not forget the teaching. Bind mercy and truth on your heart. Trust in the Lord with all your heart — do not lean on your own understanding, and do not hand the weight to experts who do not fear God. Fear the Lord. Turn from evil. Teach that to your sons.

Synergy is not a corporate buzzword. It is Greek: sun + ergon — work with. We avoid it when we have no goal, when we fight over who is in charge, or when our tribe gets so narrow that correction cannot get in. The worst tribe is a tribe of one: if everywhere you go you are the only one who sees it right, the problem is probably you. Real collaboration needs a leader who convenes, draws out strengths, and then decides. Different gifts, one outcome better than any solo effort.

If you want C.S. Lewis in story form of the Marxist / Communist / Socialist view of mankind, read this trilogy. He doesn't talk about those isms, but he describes what we see in our own day. He published it in 1945 and could foresee so much of what the left is doing.

Solomon is not only talking about how sinful sexual immorality is. He is talking about the cost. Can a man hold fire against his chest without burning his clothes? Walk on hot coals without scorched feet? So with the one who sleeps with his neighbor’s wife. Reputation that does not wipe away. A marriage that may survive and still carry scars. Time and money burned. In our day the street corner is a feed, a click away at any hour. The wisest path is still the same: flee, and come home to your wife.
