The Version 1 sprites feel like everything's cluttered and unreadable from a distance. For something that just about every character's gonna be using, that wasn't a good enough "base" for these walk sprites imo
quick update since it's been a minute main thing I've been doing is remaking the walk sprites. it's been taking a good amount of experimenting, but i've gotten a lot better at making things like this quicker. This style is the one i've been happiest with👍
