This does nobody any favors. Bowl games offer players an extra 15 practices and another 4 quarters of quality game tape against a quality opponent, which can make the differenece between a player making an NFL roster and having to give up their professional football dreams. It also helps teams get a jump on the next season. It's like having an extra spring camp. This is a huge mistake by @NDFootball and a huge disservice to the sport and all who play it.
