The robotics team finished their semester design: an interactive light-source following robot. We implemented the following features successfully: sound effects, object detection, an advanced exterior, and an interactive application. The new and improved Charlie the robot!

Our robot is almost entirely finished and ready for testing as we near the end of semester design review.

The courtyard team officially began prototyping this week! The team split up to brainstorm wall attachment styles and to construct a small-scale wall to test attachments on. @EPICSPurdue

The robots outer shell was printed and our team was able to start the process of building and wiring our robot. In the next week, we plan to implement more of our semester designs. @EPICSPurdue

The software team engaged in some work with an ultrasonic sensor. Our goal is to correlate object detection features with the sound integration. @EPICSPurdue

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT Jenna Gillette, a freshman pursuing Electrical Engineering and the teams Financial Officer. Her favorite aspect of EPICS is getting experience on real projects in a learning environment which prepares her for future career opportunities.

After a successful visit to DCES, the courtyard team has decided to focus their efforts this semester on planning a building wall! This project will act as a sort of choose-your-own-adventure Rube Goldberg machine. @EPICSPurdue
