A Joyous Day - Elsie (Myatt) Pettipas standing next to her mother Bridget (ca. 1887-1962). She was the wife of Albert Myatt. This could be a wedding photograph. Elsie married Reginald Joseph Pettipas on the 22nd of October 1941 at St. Patrick’s Church in Halifax.

In 1818 surveyor Anthony Lockwood published sailing directions for the coasts of Nova Scotia, including descriptions of the harbours and settlements along the Eastern Shore. March came in like a lamb (though it's not feeling like it today!) so for this month we'll be sharing sheep-related photos from our archives. Here are sheep in the snow at Lower Ship Harbour c1921 on the property of John Oliver Siteman and Sara Catherine “Carrie” Henderson.
Owls Head: Shown here on their 50th Wedding Anniversary is James Richard Parker (1862-1953) and Lillian Jane Taylor (1871-1962). They were married on Nov 15, 1893. Photo is taken in front of their home in Owls Head (originally Thomas Parker’s property).
On Sep 18, 1895, Asaph Stevens (1872-1955) married Mary Laybolt (1879-1967) . This photo was taken at their home on Russell Road in Clam Harbour on their 50th wedding Anniversary. The couple had 16 children.
Restoration is now complete on the Edward “Eb” Day boat! This type of boat is called a “Flat” and features traditional carvel planking. “Eb” (1880-1962) was a 2nd generation boatbuilder from Salmon River Bridge, Jeddore. The boat is part of the museum collection @MemoryLane_News
