@CoachMarcusHill My son played baseball and hoops and I’ll never forget how kind @pipes_pj was to occasionally play my 9 year-old in NBA2K online when PJ had worked a kids hoops camp and was playing D1 hoops. and my dude was 9. Someday PJ will understand what a gift that was.

@notgaetti I’ve long said that the biggest long-term threat to pro sports is pricing too many fans out. Kids who can see their heroes close at a game are future season ticket holders. But if the only ones who can do that are the ones paying $200 for that seat, well, the pool shrinks.

@notgaetti Relegation is the only answer. You suck that bad, you get moved to AAA and let your big leaguers ride the bus. Best AAA teams move up and reward their die-hard season ticket holders when the Dodgers come into Des Moones to play in front of a 10,000 seat sellout. 😀

@JermaineCurtis Are you missing off speed? Off balance maybe? I think there’s nuance on this. BUT…the advice on having a plan and sticking to it is huge. When I was keyed into those thoughts, my mindset was I was the only one who could get me out by losing focus. Great stuff to think about!

@wischlist @DOB23 I posted on Facebook about missing Craig Sager. These are cringe and everyone is “Mom” or “Dad”. As a former sideline reporter, I’d hate to do these interviews cold, too (but I would have met every parent and player beforehand if I was allowed).

@notgaetti I know Torii is great. Jim has actually been coaching at his son’s school for a few years, and spoke at the Illinois HS Baseball Coach convention this past year and is just such a great guy for this.

@BaseballDudes48 @GrahamD14 Baserunning is so overlooked. I got so many great ideas from @Addy_Rouse and @USABaseCoach FREE clinics. But it takes some planning (and courage!) for coaches to work these fundamentals into a practice plan. Wish more youth coaches used these resources.

@BaseballDudes48 Baserunning issues come from lack of decision-making experience. Coaches want to control everything (pitch-calling, anyone?) so they tell players when to stay or when to go. Players don’t read/react…they wait and aren’t allowed to fail and learn, IMHO.

@notgaetti Great stuff! Thank you for helping me to reminisce about our sports "firsts" with our kiddos. We took our oldest to her first Bulls game at five months. Like you, we fully expected to leave very early. She sat the entire game and loved people-watching and the scoreboard.
