6月28日，广东揭阳市新亨镇，发生一起极其残忍的虐狗事件。一只狗妈妈被虐待后焚烧致死，一窝幼崽也被虐待致死。视频中，一名青少年用铁丝套住狗的脖子拖行，另几名青年手持棍棒一路猛敲数十下，疑似由于护崽天性，狗妈妈并未逃跑和反抗，被打的血肉模糊，一窝狗幼崽也被棍棒打死。最终，施暴者倾倒易燃液体后点火焚烧，狗妈妈在痛苦哀嚎中被活活烧死。
