Who's Salahʼs replacement at Liverpool? Ngumoha? Yes, the boy is talented to the core but Salahʼs cap is way too big for his small head. After all, he's not even a right winger. He should be used in the position he enjoys better. With someone of Salahʼs quality Liverpool wouldn't have settled for a draw. His pace, ability to run at defenders, creativity and end product was all this game was begging for to favor Liverpool but then the king wasn't there and had left no rightful heir. Cody was just being Gakpo while Isak played under immense pressure. I think the two have given their best. Wirtz is doing alright than last season. He's now more comfortable playing alongside his teammates. He'll soon become a big problem. Gravenberch was solid and just like oxygen, Szoboslai was everywhere. Liverpool midfielders played well. The fact that they underrated Newcastle’s midfield, I think was one of the reasons they couldn't overcome them. The pairing of Van Dijk and Jacquet made sense. Vigil ages like a fine wine. He's commanding respect, winning duels, pushing ball upward in the same fashion he used to when Liverpool were Liverpool. I think Frimpong was solid. His indecision was the only issue. So was Kerkez. All the substitutes were impressive. Liverpool were able to get a point because Alison is a one-on-one monster. I won't laugh at Liverpool because their game against Newcastle is the toughest of week one and Newcastle didn't play like a club that sold some of their finest players. I think Liverpool will give Arsenal a bigger headache compared to City.
