@DimitriMonroeZ I remember watching SAO abridged when I was younger. A fan of both SAO and the abridged series asked them if they liked SAO, and every single person involved in it said no, they didn't, they're trying to "improve" it.
I think that was the last time I watched an abridged series.
@idolmaster_en It is nice that these are getting translated, but in English, text in comics would be center aligned, not aligned to the sides. That's one thing you could improve on.
@kazeno_ I think it's good. I just like having interactions with characters. If they have this type of input, where you're rewarded for knowing the character and answering correctly, that's good, but if it isn't there, I won't think less of a game for not having it.
@ChrisExpTheNews For example, in medieval Europe, there was a unified moral consensus on sexuality. Discussions of sexuality didn't devolve into discussing objective morality, instead it appealed to and argued about whether certain sexual acts went against the established Christian morality.
@ChrisExpTheNews My point is that with taxes, there is somewhat of a consensus on morality. If it's theft, it's bad. If it isn't, it's acceptable. With sexuality, there is no consensus on the underlying moral principles themselves, so debates are more likely to become about objective morality.
@ChrisExpTheNews I did not mention taxation. I mentioned theft. Even in that framing, libertarians frame taxation as "theft." Because practically everyone agrees theft is bad. Whether or not theft is immoral does not need debate. Whether taxation counts as theft, that's what gets debated.
@bizlet7 Don't give too much credence to images like this. The data is always skewed and wrong, in like 100% of the cases. Every site will give a different result.
@SaGa_NeilB "Levelling up" have been used in English since at least 1860s, from what I can tell by a quick google search. So while the use in video games might be taken from Japan, that's not strange if it's already an English phrase. Is this really the best example?
@Italian347 It's mainly popular among the Japanese. I think it's got soul and heart. Chapter 1, Tanjirou begs the good guys to not kill his sister, and in response, they get angry. Tell him to never do that again. To fight instead. I liked this scene. I like this type of thing.
@Italian347 I see it quoted and referenced all the time, so the premise itself of that post is wrong. Wordplays on breathing, quotes of Tanjirou called Akaza a coward for running away, half of everything Kyoujurou said. I went to 2chan, found this on literally the first thread on frontpage.
@memeticsisyphus This one is the most surprising. The cause of death is the snake. Yes, you could've prevented it, but that's the same as saying the person being shot in the first scenario could've avoided being shot. While true, the cause of death is still the snake/shooter.
@Italian347 It is always a bit suspicious how devoid of history books these lists are. There's only three, and all pre-AD era, stuff that'd just be included in a Classical education, rather than history.
@momo_tenshei I saw the tweets making fun of you first, and thought they were fair. But I think this is a good bit of reflection on your part too, made me think better of you. Mistakes are fine. It's a good sorry and farewell message.
Good luck in your future endeavors, whatever they may be.
Seeing him cite Bloodborne or Demon's Souls as better examples reminds me that a lot of people just don't want to play From Soft games. They just want the aesthetic. They can't stand the actual gameplay.
@nygma0451 That's just your opinion. Those kids are growing up and doing a better job at separating reality from fiction (and opinions) than you. Anime isn't as new as you think it is. There's three generations of kids who grew up on it.
@nygma0451 You can call it cope all you want, it doesn't change how it's the actual reality. It's no different from a fantasy author writing about only kingdoms with monarchies and not wanting to live under one in reality. The Japanese can separate reality from fiction.
@revenant_MMXX No, he really did make the worst videos ever on Souls games. He's the source of all the most retarded things people say about these games.
