Do not ever fall into the trap of designing faster just to impress people on your team. Take your time. Check the details. Make sure you are not skipping things because you are trying to prove how quickly you can move, especially in a startup. The moment you start trying to become the Usain Bolt of design, that is usually when you start missing some tiny tiny details you were not supposed to. You overlook something small, then another thing, and before you know it they will start questioning the quality of your work. And please do not let “we are a fast-paced company” pressure you into working carelessly. Speed and detailed work do not always go together. Some people can balance both, but it is rare, especially when you are the only designer carrying a lot of the product. But that doesn’t mean you should go and sleep on one screen for too long. I would rather be known as the designer who takes a little more time but catches the important details than the designer who is extremely fast but constantly misses things. They might pressure you. They might make you feel like you need to move faster. Maintain your pace ooo. You can improve your speed naturally as you understand the product better, but do not sacrifice the quality of your thinking just to look fast. When review time comes, nobody is going to remember that you delivered 1000 screen in two weeks 😂. They are going to remember the things you missed. Keep doing good work. Do not fall for that startup pressure. Na you go suffer am.
