I didn't understand anything the "grandma" said. It looks more like a disrespect and disregard to the elderly woman more than the grandma's love for the grandson, you don't beat a child that runs to an elderly person without explaining what happened or didn't happen.

It’s a genetic disorder caused by a mutation in the gene that encodes hemoglobin (HBB gene), the protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen. Mutation in the HBB gene that produces hemoglobin (S) instead of normal hemoglobin (A).
