@saturn74954 So the rear ramp has become the recoil spade, I doubt if that or the chassis would survive long in active use.
The line is/was so misunderstood. It was also much wider than this and not deep. It did an excellent job at stopping a crossing over the mutual border. The failure of the field armies is a separate discussion. Not to forget that it's construction was as much Keynesian economic stimulus as anything else.
@Tank_Archives Despite promising trials the muzzle loaded T-34 was never taken into service.
@la_anfi Surprising to see Shermans in that collection.
Privatisation has evolved, don't presume it ends with public services, these days they are deemed 'small potatoes' by the likes of Blackrock, Quadrature , DP World, Deloitte, and libertarians like Patri Friedman (the grandson of right-wing economist Milton Friedman), and speculators like Trump, Peter Thiel, Musk, Bezos, Shanker Singham, Grover Norquist, and Michael Castle Miller. Starmer and Reeves will carry on cultivating their trickle-down economics system, inherited from Thatcher and Blair, one that has failed time and time again, and only ever produces relentless extraction of resources, including State aid which is public money to subsidise corporations setting up shop in SEZs. This form of subsidy is illegal in the EU, because it distorts the integrity of the Single Market, State aid when it is misused in this way benefits the 1% only, its real name is corporate welfare. UK SEZs are tax havens, they are already spreading through the UK like a virus. 48 SEZs and 8 Freeports in England 18 SEZs and 2 Freeports in Scotland 8 SEZs and 2 Freeports in Wales Corporate tax breaks were set by Jeremy Hunt for 10 years, and the licenses, (signed off by Labour) were set at 25 years. Did you know that Labour signed off with the Tories on 74 Special Economic Zones and 12 Freeports between 2021 and 2022? UK SEZs contravene rules on State aid, this sabotages rejoining the EU for 25 years, the duration of the UKs SEZ licenses. SEZs are designated regions ranging in size from 34km to 75km in diameter, the Firth of Forth Freeport is housed in an SEZ spanning 38km, it covers 70% of the City of Edinburgh. The goal of 21st-century privatisation is 'countrypreneurship', the privatisation of nations. The first step is to absorb all public services, which include bankrupt council assets, both have been defunded to breaking point by austerity policies and trickle-down economics, next up are mass compulsory purchase orders which apply to agricultural, business, and residential properties. Birmingham which is host to 6 SEZs is already undergoing mass CPOs of over 6000 residential properties. If SEZs are so great for economic growth, why are they not being trumpeted by the MSM? x.com/EuropeanPowell…
6,000 people could have their homes torn down as part of a £2.2bn project in which 1,266 council houses and 567 properties belonging to private homeowners could be repossessed in a mass compulsory purchase order for the area. “I own the freehold. I’ve put everything in here, this
@klaasm67 It's not actually an IS3, in reality it's a wooden shell mock up built over a Tiger 1 in order to make it look like an IS3. The giveaway is always the wheels, but it's a very good effort. You'll often see this famous example in movies like Saving comrade Ivan.
Last week Starmer announced a government partnership with Blackrock, I have not seen one UK news outlet giving a critical reaction to this bombshell, Blackrock will absolutely privatise the UK.

Syrian Civil War [27/11/2024]: 🇸🇾 Today a coalition of opposition forces led by HTS launched the operation "Deterrence of Aggression" in the western part of Aleppo Governorate. Rebel and terrorist groups managed to break through the Syrian Army's weak defences there and captured a number of important towns and positions on their way to the city of Aleppo, the first districts of which are less than seven kilometres from the new front line. - Shaykh Aqil, Kafr Bissin, Qabtian al-Jabal, Baqdīnah, Jamiyat al-Maari, Bālah, al-Salloum, al-Qasimiyah, Hawar, Anjarah, Al-Hawtah al-Barraniyah, Busratoun, Bayt Ghazi, A'ajel, Awayjil, Jamiat Amin, Urem al-Kubra, Urem al-Sughra & Regiment 46 Army base were captured by rebel forces. - Clashes between rebels & SAA continue at Rif al-Muhandisin 2, Al-Hawtah al-Jawaniyah & Kafr Naha continue. The rebel offensive is quite reminiscent of the Ukrainian one in Kursk. The militants launched an offensive in a theoretically defended area, but whose security was provided by pro-government recruits and militias. The rebels advanced through Shayk Aqil mountain from where they could monitor the movements along Highway 62 Aleppo – Afrin. This led to the collapse of the Syrian positions and the deep withdrawal to the vicinity of the city of Aleppo and the M-5 highway which can be considered a front line in some areas. The withdrawal in some cases was chaotic and the government troops were quickly overtaken by the rebels. However, in many cases it was the rebel penetration into areas far from the front (such as the Ukrainian advances in Kursk) which was a trap for the rebels and they were eliminated by the army and the air force. In the last few hours, the Syrian army has sent reinforcements to the governorates of Aleppo and Idlib and preparations for a major counteroffensive are underway as Russian aircraft and artillery destroy rebel buildups in the rear, which has left several hundred dead in just 48 hours. However, the operation "Deterrence of Aggression" is far from over, as new rebel groups of the so-called Syrian National Army are entering from Afrin towards the front lines, as it used to happen in past rebel offensives. As rebel casualties increase and reinforcements manage to stabilize the front, the military operation led by HTS will come to an end, and then we can talk about an SAA counteroffensive as we once witnessed. Remember the offensives in Hama, remember how multiple places were actually taken over through social media, remember what happened afterwards. We just have to be patient, but it seems that the status quo in Idlib has its days numbered. Glory to the martyrs and pray for those who fight against terrorism every day. 🙏🏻🇸🇾
More freeports? Just one of many recent @PrivateEyeNews stories on Rishi Sunak's flagship freeport (more in current issue)...
Company responsible for security at UK’s flagship freeport, Teesside, run by man not long out from lengthy prison sentence for leading serious organised crime racket. Will freeport chairman Lord (Ben) Houchen do anything? New @PrivateEyeNews has the full story.
@project4_4 Interesting to see the trails filled in by the pit the crew have dug. I would imagine it was fairly good as a scrape against shrapnel if needed.
Don't stop talking about Palestine...
@whincupm I have never understood why so many western armies have given up on the 4.2" or 120mm mortar. The 81mm is great in it's place, as too the 40mm, but the 120 packs the punch you need sometimes.
@witte_sergei Got to move Montgomery and Timoshenko down. Rommel down with Patton, both need to learn to live within their logistics, not their dreams. I have a soft spot for Eisenhower and Shaposhnikov, both suited their roles.
@KrypTanko I have so many questions, firstly, why not just fit a 17pdr to test it? Secondly, they were planning on a turret? I guess the Firefly and Achilles both managed, so why not.
@TankMuseum Dead mans shoes! Bout time someone got the chance to play. But honestly, thank you for your time and dedication, now get a real job.
