According to the Roman Catholic Church dogmas, the thief on the cross next to Jesus would be in hell. That’s how I know RCC is teaching false doctrine.
Of course Mary is alive in Christ (not on this Earth). So are all believers who died in faith. But that still doesn’t mean we pray to them. The Bible gives eternal life to believers, but it directs prayer to God. “Our Father” is the model, not “Mary, hear us.” Eternal life does not equal permission to invoke the dead.
The Bible say there is only one intermediator: Jesus. You are practicing idolatry.
I pray WITH her. She intercedes like anyone on Earth. I’m not “dogeing” (dodging) anything. What would I have to gain by lying to you? You’re a stranger. I will admit, it’s always funny being told what I “really” believe by people who obviously have no idea what they’re talking

I’ve started reading some R.C. Sproul yesterday, and honestly, he’s worth picking up if you want theology that actually makes sense. He doesn’t write like he’s talking to academics. He explains things clearly and keeps bringing everything back to God’s holiness, grace, and the gospel. Start with The Holiness of God if you haven’t read him before.

These quotes teach biblical participation in God’s life, not Mormon exaltation. The Fathers believed we become “gods” by grace, adoption, holiness, and union with Christ. They did not teach that we become another God by nature, equal to the Father, or the same species as God. Athanasius himself said it is impossible for creatures to become as the Father. So quoting the Fathers without that distinction is misleading. A Bible verse that explains the Christian idea is 2 Peter 1:4: believers become “partakers of the divine nature.” That means sharing in God’s life by grace, not replacing the Creator/creature distinction.
