I come from a poor family. I was raised in one of the worst neighborhoods in Las Vegas, so I was surrounded by poor people convinced they had little escape from their poverty except crime. As a result, I was always sympathetic to the poor because, well, that's where I came from. So of course I had a Marxist phase as a teenager and saw a lot through the lens of class really into my thirties. But at the same time, everything good that I got was due to the benefaction or vision of wealthy people: grants, scholarships, and jobs doing cerebral things were provided by the rich. At the same time when I went back home, my increasingly abstract work was derided by the locals. They scoffed with contempt at what I was doing because it was too alien to their world of gambling, drugs, valeting cars for tips. And increasingly it was the middle class or wealthy groups that saw value in my work and value in me as a thinker, so they gave me more opportunities and more praise as I advanced in my career. I couldn't help but develop a kind of really ugly animosity towards the poor: these people treat me with contempt today, they were the ones who relentlessly bullied me in my youth, and they're the ones who are dealing drugs and getting in bar fights and doing all of this nasty shit. So why not be a snob? And I am not proud of this thought, and I tried very hard to fight it for many years, which is why one experience I had at the New York Public Library is burned in my brain and has unfortunately tipped me over into a kind of class-based snobbery that I do hold to this day. It is not essentialist or deterministic, and it is conditional. And of course hashtag not all men there are exceptions--but as a heuristic, the idea that the poor are victims of circumstance does not hold up to scrutiny in all situations. Of course it does and still does, geographically speaking, for most of the world. The poor in, for instance, Thailand, are poor because of corruption and mismanagement. The poor in Las Vegas, however, are antisocial reprobates. What really killed the last bit of sympathy for my people, socioeconomically speaking, was when I went to a session for the public on investing. I was starting out as a financial journalist and thought it'd be a good idea to go and see how finance was taught to the public (and it was a great experience). But there was one woman in the back who said the following: "I understand how holding stocks for a long time can make you money and all, but is there any way to make this more fun? It all seems kind of boring." And the teacher patiently smiled and said, "I know it can seem kind of dry, but trust me, the first time you get a dividend check, investing will feel anything but boring!" The woman was not mollified. I scanned her clothes, her demeanor. Concepts flashed in my mind: marshmallow test. The law of compounding. IQ tests. Non zero-sum games. I don't want to be a snob. But I don't want to lie to myself either.

codex just blasted through the limits since 2 hours, I haven't sent a message since then, but it's not using the /goal trick - weird. it still uses the weekly, so it's not free, it just doesn't force you to wait.

codex 5h is a quarter of weekly now? is this absurd or has it always been like this? im using sol (without fast) on high/extra-high and this is a much different experience from 5.5 which I blasted the hell out of on FAST with XHIGH on the previous weeks, 20x sub, is it just me?

something is very wrong with codex usage, I’m using 1-3 sol high agents and the 20x limits burn in 2-3 hours
