Lynch had a distinct kind of optimism, always tinged with something a little dark, but always there. To me, anyway. I hope I can learn to hold that myself one day.
Completely and utterly devastated, like I've lost a relative. Eraserhead, Wild at Heart and then Twin Peaks had such a profound impact on me as a teenager, on how I appreciated art that didn't compromise or lay itself bare.
If you haven’t seen it, you should check out David Lynch’s DumbLand, which is just Lynch doing a cartoon full of violence and farting. Earnestly one of my favorite things
@Srirachachau Also from what I remember the first song that Reznor offered was turned down by Lynch for being too in tune with expected Twin Peaks vibes, he wanted something a bit more raw and cold
