This #FireTruckFriday we are featuring Brush 551. B-551 is a 2002 Ford F550 type 6 wildland engine. B-551 is outfitted to respond to wildland fires locally as well as national deployments on large wildfires. You can see B-551 working hard on two separate incidents from 2023.

This #FireTruckFriday we are featuring Rescue 581, a 2016 Dodge Ram. Rescue 581 is a light rescue truck which is utilized for backcountry rescues, water/ice rescues, rope rescues, large incident support, and structure fires. R-581 responds out of our Lookout Mountain Station

Strong west winds will develop over the higher terrain today through this evening. The strongest winds will impact mountain passes, areas above timberline, and the foothills. Sustained speeds between 30-45 mph are expected, along with gusts as high as 80 mph. #COwx
EFR assisted with the #CascadeFire southwest of Idaho Springs on 12/6. Today (12/7) the National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning until 5 p.m. Steady winds of 30-45 mph with gusts to 80 mph are expected. Call 911 if you see damaged electrical lines, smoke, or fire.
