New Wave of American Attacks and Saudi Involvement In recent days, Trump has intensified airstrikes against Iran, combining attacks on Iranian air defenses and coastal facilities with strikes on depots. The real escalation, however, has come with attacks on Iranian infrastructure. One notable target was a bridge supporting the Gorgan-Incheh Borun railway line, which directly connects Iran to Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, and China. This target was hit by cruise missiles with the clear aim of disrupting Iran’s logistical rail route. A water pumping station in Mahshahr, southwestern Iran, was also struck by U.S. airstrikes. The Aghajari Oil and Gas Airport, located in the city of Omidiyeh in Khuzestan Province, was subjected to intense American aerial bombardment, along with nearly all major cities in Khuzestan. As I have been saying, there is an ongoing plan. These American attacks are not merely reactive, quite the opposite. They follow a well-consolidated timeline established by the Pentagon. Strikes hit Qeshm, Sirik, Bandar Abbas, Jask, Bushehr, Khandab, Bandar Mahshahr, Behbahan, Andimeshk, Dezful, Ahvaz, Abadan, and Khorramshahr. This marks the resumption of systematic attacks on Iranian infrastructure, and they are unlikely to stop anytime soon. The U.S. has struck Iran’s oil, gas, petrochemical, and water infrastructure in these latest assaults. Iran responded with attacks on American bases in the region, including strikes on bases in Jordan that demonstrated excellent precision despite the dense air defenses in that corridor. The IRGC issued a statement saying: “The only way to open the Strait of Hormuz for the passage of ships is to end the interventions of the U.S.,” adding that continued American interventions “will lead to even greater events in the global oil and gas sector.” In a separate announcement, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Baghaei stated that “Iran won’t grant the IAEA access to its nuclear facilities,” directly contradicting Trump’s declarations and confirming what I had pointed out earlier about the key sticking points in any potential agreement. There is simply no justification for the United States pushing through vessels along the Omani coastline in the Strait of Hormuz. You can cry and scream about "freedom of navigation", but at the end of the day, the Memorandum of Understanding was very clear that Iran would control the traffic through the Strait of Hormuz during the initial 60-day window. Time and time again, the United States has shredded the MOU by attempting to retroactively alter the terms because they didn't "like them". Of course you didn't like them. They suck... because you LOST. Oil sanction waivers a la Article 10? Torched. No new sanctions a la Article 9? Blown up. Iranian administration of traffic a la Article 5? Nope. You can whine all day long about how it's "wrong" for Iran to strike those vessels, but this is a rational response to a war of choice from the United States. You don't get to claim "right vs. wrong" when the Trump Administration is solely to blame for this situation in the first place. The Strait of Hormuz was open before this war started. The REASON that the United States was attempting an Operation Freedom 2.0 along the Omani Route was BECAUSE they were trying to actively undermine the Iranian control of the Strait. They were trying to actively push through enough vessels in a short enough period of time to shift the strategic landscape of the conflict. I have seen time and time again people claim, "Iran doesn't know what's best for them. If they just didn't strike vessels, they would get massive sanctions relief"... No, they wouldn't. Because President Trump and the United States had no INTENTION of sticking to the MOU. The goal was to use this 60-day window to shift the landscape so that they could topple the regime or secure outcomes they could not have in the initial MOU. This isn't "the US operating in good faith and those pesky Iranians messed everything up". This is the United States blatantly trying to unilaterally alter the terms of the MOU by shredded the oil waivers, sanctioning new entities, and pushing vessels through the Omani Route.

The renewed escalation between the United States and Iran was triggered by a maritime dispute over the Strait of Hormuz. Iran struck two ships after they switched off their tracking systems and, encouraged by CENTCOM, used the southern passage through the Strait, in defiance of the route Tehran says was agreed under paragraph 5 of the MoU. For Washington, the issue is not about freedom of navigation: the United States wants commercial vessels to cross the Strait without Iranian control, inspection, or political conditions. For Tehran, that would empty the MoU of its strategic meaning. Hormuz is Iran’s last serious negotiating card. It's remaining leverage over sanctions relief, frozen assets, the end of hostilities in Lebanon and the regional balance after the war. Iran will not surrender that card. Trump, however, appears to believe that military strikes can force Iran to reopen Hormuz on American terms. That is the miscalculation at the heart of the escalation. Washington wants free passage without Iranian authority; Tehran wants recognition that the old order in the Strait is over. The clash is therefore not about two ships alone, but about who controls the rules of passage in Hormuz after the war.

JUST IN: Iran’s Foreign Ministry declares the U.S.-Iran MOU is "completely dead" due to continued American aggression, warning that any nation cooperating with the U.S. will be treated as a legitimate military target, per ISNA. The Foreign Ministry stated that U.S. attacks have "rendered all recent multi-month efforts to reduce tensions fruitless" and that "the origin and source of attacks against Iran will be the legitimate target of strikes by Iran's armed forces" . This represents a formal declaration that the June 18 ceasefire framework has collapsed entirely. Iran also blamed the U.S. for sabotaging the Muscat talks. The Foreign Ministry said the negotiations "were fundamentally focused on arrangements for managing the Strait of Hormuz," but Washington "through overt and covert pressures on Oman, prevented the achievement of a result."

I just don't understand why folk are STILL not happy with this message from Britain's next PM re. GAZA. Id say its balanced and more than we've had before from Labour. I can't think of ANY government that will get in power and be this balanced and we all know why.
