@DBoczek78 @USFWS @ONresources Yes, NA1 nets. The survey covers the entire lake with 75 total sites randomly chosen, with ~1/3 in shallow (<3m deep) and 2/3 in deep water. This is part of a long term assessment on the lake rotating between gears, with the gill net survey happening every other year.

This week we have been out on Lake St. Clair conducting our portion the collaborative lake-wide gill net survey between us, @USFWS , and @ONresources. Common species thus far have included Yellow Perch, Shorthead Redhorse, Walleye, and Channel Catfish.

@LakeOntario16 We do annual surveys to monitor our sturgeon population. Fish are caught, measured, tagged (unless already tagged), and released. These efforts allow us to estimate population size, mortality rates, growth rates, recruitment of juveniles, evaluate restoration success, etc.
