‼️‼️ *According to information regarding the recent incident at Sarhad University, there are several important background details that need to be brought into consideration.* ‼️Muhammad Riyaz Khalil is the President and owner of Sarhad University. He is a businessman by profession and is also the owner of Millennium Mall in Murree. ‼️The individual seen in the video has been identified as Mr. Jadun, who is from Bannu and serves as the Head of the Department of Student Affairs at Sarhad University. Dr. Aina, a professor at Sarhad University, is the wife of Lieutenant Colonel Asfandiyar. ‼️Mr. Jadun has also been involved in student admission matters. According to complaints raised by some female students, he was accused of demanding money during the admission process. Complaints regarding harassment and inappropriate language were also made against him. Some students brought these matters to Dr. Aina’s attention, who subsequently conveyed the complaints to the university administration. ‼️Following the complaints received by the university administration, an inquiry was ordered against Mr. Jadun. Around the same time, Dr. Aina was assigned responsibility for Student Affairs. ‼️Last Friday, during Mr. Jadun’s visit to Dr. Aina’s office, he threatened her. According to the account, he told her, “I will set you straight,” and allegedly threatened to use a group of students and people on social media against her. In response, Dr. Aina contacted Police Emergency 15. After the police arrived, Dr. Aina and Mr. Jadun went to the police station, where Dr. Aina submitted an application regarding alleged harassment and the use of inappropriate language at Hamak Town Police Station . ‼️Later, the university’s Vice President also arrived at the police station and attempted to resolve the matter amicably in order to prevent reputational damage to the university and those involved. After several efforts, it was reportedly agreed that Mr. Jadun would submit a written apology to Dr. Aina. Accordingly, a written apology from Mr. Jadun was submitted at Hamak Town Police Station, while Dr. Aina’s application also remained on record. ‼️Over the weekend, Dr. Aina informed her husband, Lieutenant Colonel Asfandiyar, about the matter and told him that the issue had been resolved following the written apology. ‼️On Monday, when Dr. Aina arrived at the university, students were already protesting. Their demands included issues related to admissions and concerns regarding the recognition of Sarhad University’s pharmacy degree. Since Dr. Aina was responsible for Student Affairs, students began surrounding her and raising their concerns. ‼️During this situation, Mr. Jadun also arrived with a group of students accompanying him. According to the information received and footage of the incident, Dr. Aina was surrounded and was subjected to pushing and physical intimidation. ‼️Dr. Aina immediately contacted Police Emergency 15 and also called her sister. Her sister subsequently informed her husband, who, considering the seriousness of the situation, informed Lieutenant Colonel Asfandiyar. At the time, Lieutenant Colonel Asfandiyar was on his way to his office and, after receiving the information, proceeded to the location. ‼️Upon arriving at the scene, Lieutenant Colonel Asfandiyar attempted to resolve the situation peacefully and remove his wife from the area. According to the available footage, people at the scene also pushed him. The situation subsequently escalated, after which Lieutenant Colonel Asfandiyar opened fire in self-defense. ‼️The entire matter cannot be viewed separately from Friday’s incident, as a complaint regarding alleged harassment and inappropriate language had already been submitted to the Police against Mr. Jadun, and his written apology was on record. ‼️Following the latest incident, an FIR has also been registered against Mr. Jadun and the students who were allegedly accompanying him۔۔۔
