@calamkirst @racehorsesrace1 Yes I get it, I’d try harder, but I don’t think it helps to focus on one case, better imo to address the wider problems in the racing & horse world. I’ve got 3 I don’t ride, 2 are rejects that won’t make old bones due to bad breeding & early nutrition. Always some sucker 🙋‍♀️ 😂

@calamkirst @racehorsesrace1 Is there more than one vulnerable horse scheme? I know that most rescues are overwhelmed. I agree with you mostly & wish people did better for horses of all kinds, but starting with a not broken horse would be helpful.

@FOBRacing Depends on the horse though. If this were true there would be no need for whips or heavy negative reinforcement. So it’s largely a happy fiction we tell ourselves. Some shout louder than others, it’s great when we listen better.

The ones that so look for something else find me though so that’s good. Like you I never say it works for all. It worked for me, & I wish I’d known sooner!

@Lara1273 I’m so sorry. It’s not right. But, & I’m not going to go into it here, but I have equally devastating reasons for not trusting either the medical system but especially the justice system. Plus years of dealing with a punitive, hostile DWP. How can we trust these systems.

@Lara1273 No I get that, & it’s horribly unfair, & we should have a compassionate fair solution. But the systems are not trustworthy enough right now. (I’m somewhat disabled and have been very disabled btw). It’s not about a slippery slope. We are already half way down.

@Lara1273 Honestly? Nothing I have seen so far really, while I don’t trust the systems we have in place right now having had a very bad experience with both healthcare & the justice system even with my sensible head on I don’t feel that any of the discussion so far has felt safe enough.

@morgan_stewar I had combined TCA and fentanyl withdrawal. It nearly killed me (dysphoria, akathisia) I never dared to take an SSRI due to how badly I’d reacted to a TCA. The synthetic opioids are horrific. But I learned all I needed to taper off from the SSRI community. We’re best together.
