For a body to function efficiently, all parts need to be present and engaged, which supports the need for communal worship. No, Christians pray when they need the help of GOD. Most don't go to church. It is a matter of convenience, not a special "relationship". "Whenever I want to talk to GOD, on my time and my terms" is not a commitment. Sorry. I know the boatloads of "Christians" who are closing the bar Saturday night aren't at church Sunday morning. They are at the porcelain altar "praying" they stop puking and that their hangover goes away. And the only "commitment" they make to GOD is if the headache and puking stop, the "swear" they won't drink again. (Which is generally broken within 1 and 6 days depending on what day they went out)
