Post-roe bans are hurting people who *want* to be pregnant, too. They are not protecting women and children. They tie legal, safe procedures up in red-tape along with doctors who just want to help their patients. Everyone should be concerned.

This makes me so concerned. Who is testing the DNA? Where are they storing it? Who will be allowed access to it and can anyone remove that data? And it's just sending the wrong message that they don't want to solve the issue of school shootings, that we should just live with it

menstrual period, but if you ovulate later in your cycle, then at 8 weeks you could really be more like 6 or even 5 weeks gestation, and it's just too early to detect those beating cells. This really shouldn't be the basis for cold hard legislation

I only learned recently that not only is there no real heartbeat at 6 weeks (bc the heart hasn't fully formed), but when OBGYN's do their normal 8th week scan, it could still be too early for the beating cells to be detectable bc gestation is calculated by the date of the last-

they don't have anywhere else to go, they aren't mobile enough to leave bc of health, disabilities, hospital/EMT/emergency services can't just leave and abandon people. I just pray every time everyone comes out of these disasters okay and can rebuild

This is brought up with every hurricane. Back in 2020, when those two hurricanes slammed into place in Louisiana, people asked "why didn't they leave?" It's complicated, it costs money to leave, that's their home and they don't want to leave family, friends, pets-

Cities in MS, even the state capital, can't just raise their taxes. They have to put the decision to a city-wide vote, to a city council vote, and then still BEG the state legislature to allow the city to raise their own taxes, even by 1 cent.
