And this isn’t just about Taylor. The music industry has realized that fandom can be turned into its own economy. Nobody has to buy five versions of an album. But when an artist has built an extraordinarily devoted fanbase, they also know exactly how powerful that loyalty is. So where does the responsibility fall? Is it entirely on the fan to know when to stop? Or should artists also recognize when they’re asking their audience to spend simply because they know their audience will? Because there’s a difference between giving fans options and repeatedly creating new reasons for loyal fans to buy what they already have. This is the type of debate I think is worth having.

The Blackening isn’t really a horror movie… and I’ll argue with anybody who says it is. The killer is scary, yes. The situation is dangerous, yes. But the thing that actually kept me watching wasn’t the killer. It was watching a group of friends slowly discover how little they actually know about each other when fear enters the room. Everybody suddenly becomes suspicious. Everybody starts protecting themselves. And everybody has a different idea of who deserves to survive. That’s what makes this movie interesting: the monster outside the group almost becomes less dangerous than the people inside it. And here’s my controversial question: If you were trapped in that cabin, would you save your best friend first or save yourself? Don’t give the “I’d save everybody” answer. Be honest
