Although the bill has changed, there is still not full funding for Bright Futures recipients. We will continue to oppose SB-86 until ALL restrictions on the Bright Futures scholarship are lifted. Go to our website for more information about the changes.
SB-86 has passed through the Appropriations Committee! It is now on its way to the Senate Floor tomorrow (April 7th) anytime between 10:00 am - 6:00 pm. It is important for everyone to continue to take action to make sure that our voice is clear for the Senators.

Even though the bill has changed, it still does not explicitly state that there is full funding for Bright Futures recipients, unlike the language in the statues now.
SB-86 has passed through the second committee with changes. This means that it is one hearing away from reaching the Senate floor, and the last opportunity to make our voice heard before every Senator votes on it.
Make sure to grab and complete an appearance card and check-in in order to give public testimony. If you do not wish to speak but still want to show opposition, you can waive your right to speak. Make sure to call Senators! One call could save you tens of thousands of dollars.
