As ICE / HSI agents escalate their increasingly brutal and aggressive deportation tactics at courthouses, court interpreters must wear clearly visible ID badges at all times. In a disturbing recent incident, an interpreter was nearly arrested in a case of mistaken identity. #1nt
Arrests at immigration courts continue nationwide, and are getting even more arbitrary. In Chicago, ICE officers in plainclothes almost arrested a court interpreter by accident. They did get their guy; a man married to a U.S. citizen whose court case hadn't even been dismissed.
