Dembele dropped in to a pocket of space between the midfield and defence, this was an issue as Van Dijk and Robertson didn't want to follow as 1 was pinned by Barcola, the other didn't want to allow space out wide and in-behind. This allowed for an easy pass to break the line.

So when Liverpool set off in a block it allowed PSG players to have time and space on the ball which is what they want. The front 3 showed a variety of movements to create space for themselves and each other while dragged players out of position.

How Luis Enrique's PSG played through Liverpool block. When Liverpool pressed high with intensity PSG struggled but importantly even the best teams can't relentlessly press all match. So when Liverpool defended more passively this allowed PSG's fluidity in possession work.
