My 17-year-old daughter had been saving her own money for almost a year to buy her first car. She found a used Honda Civic on Facebook Marketplace, and after going back and forth with the seller, we agreed to drive almost four hours to see it. I went with her because there was no way I was letting my daughter travel that far alone to buy a car from a stranger. When we arrived, the seller handed me the keys and told us to take our time. I expected to find the usual problems you see with used cars. Instead, the man told me he’d taken it to his mechanic that week. He had replaced the worn brake pads, changed the oil and fixed a small issue with the cooling system. I asked him why he had spent money fixing a car he was about to sell. He shrugged. “I wouldn’t feel right selling it to a teenager knowing it wasn’t ready for the road.” My daughter was standing beside me quietly listening. Then I asked him if he was willing to negotiate. The car was listed for $8,400. He looked at my daughter and asked: “You saved this money yourself?”

Daycare Worker: “You can’t take him today.” Father: “Excuse me?” Worker: “His mother called this morning and told us not to release him to you.” Father: “I’m his father.” Worker: “I know.” Father: “I’m also on his authorised pickup list.” Worker: “I know.” Father: “Then why are you telling me I can’t take my own son?” Worker: “Because both of you have given us conflicting instructions.” Father: “What instruction did I give you?” Worker: “You didn’t. His mother called and said you weren’t supposed to pick him up today.” Father: “And she gets to change the rules with one phone call?” Worker: “We’re not taking sides.” Father: “You are if you refuse to release him to me.” Worker: “We’re trying to avoid putting your son in the middle of a dispute.” Father: “He’s already in the middle of it. You’re just making me stand outside it.” Worker: “If there were a court order restricting your pickup, we would follow it.” Father: “There isn’t one.” Worker: “I understand.” Father: “So what exactly is stopping me?”

Yesterday, my father asked me something that made me realize he had spent years telling himself a completely different story about his divorce. His marriage to my mother ended almost two decades ago, and he still believed she had walked away from a good man for no real reason. I used to think he was joking whenever he brought it up. This time, he wasn’t. He said he had given her a home, stayed faithful, and never abandoned his children. He genuinely couldn’t understand why she had chosen to raise us without him. So I finally told him what I remembered. My mother worked full-time at a hospital, often picking up extra shifts to cover our expenses. My father ran a small business from home, but his income was unpredictable, so she carried most of the financial responsibility. The problem wasn’t that he earned less. It was that he treated everything outside earning money as her responsibility, too. When we were sick, she was the one calling in late to work. When school sent home permission slips, she was the one remembering to sign them.

Kenyan to Kenyan: It's okay to be stupid every day, just not on election day. 🇰🇪

House cleaning has never looked this distracting

Our landlord told the caretaker to report anyone making noise after 10 PM. My Gen Z neighbour recorded the landlord snoring at 2 AM and posted it in the tenants’ group. The landlord threatened to evict him....

My neighbour refused to share his Wi-Fi password, saying, “Everyone should pay for their own internet.” Two weeks later, his data ran out during an online job interview....

Good morning, 𝕏 family😊 May this be the week our accounts grow, our posts travel worldwide, our efforts finally pay off, and our notifications start looking like bank statements.

Seriously 🤣

Bro to Bro. Get back to your prime. One more time. You ain’t done yet.

I think glow ups are just actually grief leaving your body

We have access to more information than any generation before us, yet being informed and being wise have somehow become two very different things.

Two people had sex but somehow, one became a hoe and the other became a king Why would a woman get sex-shamed for the same thing men are praised for??

Treat your girlfriend well. She had other options but still chose you, and some of those men are still waiting for a chance.
