Take a look at Quebec's revenue sources. Pretty wild how double digit of Canada's second largest province is someone else's taxes. We have whole parts of the country that get bailed out by people from other parts of the country. Completely irrational and unsustainable.

That same month, BC Premier David Eby’s office opened a correspondence file titled “Rennie Meeting” to brief Eby for a private sit down with Rennie. Four months later, on June 18, 2026, Carney and Eby announced a $3.2 billion condo bailout to buy unsold inventory from developers, including developers who were in the room at Rennie’s fundraiser. Carney’s exact words at the announcement: “Developers are stuck. They don’t want to sell at a loss.” In 2017, David Eby, then in opposition, stood in the BC Legislature and asked Christy Clark how she could justify giving Bob Rennie “access to the most senior policy members in her office, weeks before the foreign buyer tax was introduced, and then exempting [Rennie’s] core business from that same foreign buyer tax.” That question, posed by David Eby to Christy Clark in 2017, is now the question posed to Eby and Carney in 2026. CBC is just Liberal damage control with a broadcast licence. They cut into Pierre Poilievre’s press conference, then came back with snark and commentary instead of simply letting Canadians hear the Leader of the Opposition for themselves. Funny how Carney gets clean, uninterrupted airtime while Poilievre gets filtered, framed, mocked, and explained away. This is the problem with a taxpayer-funded broadcaster that acts like a political bodyguard for one side. The CBC is not just biased. It is actively shaping what Canadians are allowed to hear. Next to the Liberal government itself, no institution has done more damage to public trust in this country.

Here is what should happen: the developers of these unwanted condos lower the price to what people are willing to pay. The purchasers now have an affordable home, or a place they rent for cheap. The developers lose money, sending the market signal that you shouldn't build that type of housing unless you can do it much cheaper. The developers lose money. They might even go bankrupt. That sucks, but that is business. Future developments are more suited to what people want and are willing to pay. The taxpayer doesn't pay for any of it. This is what the market is good at, and the government absolutely sucks at. Let the market do its job.
