Irium PoAW-X Testnet — Progress Update The PoAW-X public testnet has been running for the past 24 hours and we want to share what has been happening. The network is live with 4 independent nodes across 3 different machines and networks — our two seed nodes, a Windows node, and a Proxmox node run by community member rodb2008. All nodes are syncing correctly, all 48 consensus gates are enforced on every block, and the resource footprint is minimal — the node uses under 200MB RAM and near zero CPU at idle. rodb2008 has also been doing a security review of the PoAW-X consensus code and found three real vulnerabilities which we are fixing in the next release. This is exactly the kind of independent review that makes the protocol stronger before mainnet activation. We are grateful for his contribution. What we are working on right now: Multi-miner support — the current testnet runs with a single miner. We are fixing the consensus rules so multiple independent miners can mine blocks and share rewards simultaneously. This is the core feature that makes PoAW-X fair and decentralized. Security fixes — binding sybil proofs to the previous block hash to prevent replay attacks, enforcing minimum sybil work costs, and fixing deserialization to reject malformed payloads. Once these are in the next release v0.1.2, the testnet will support genuine multi-party mining. When two or more miners are active the anti-domination engine activates, reward concentration drops, and the network adaptive mode shifts from Defense toward Normal — the full PoAW-X fairness model working as designed. What this means for mainnet: PoAW-X is not a rushed feature. Every component has been formally specified, simulated across 10 scenarios, tested with 2312 automated tests, and now stress tested by the community on a live network. Security findings from independent review are being fixed before activation. The activation height will be set with enough notice for all node operators to upgrade. The goal is simple — Irium should never be owned by one miner, one pool, or one hardware class. PoAW-X makes that a consensus rule, not just a promise. #IRM #crypto #blockchains #PoW

Block timestamps are now validated against the Median Time Past of the last 11 blocks, the same standard used by Bitcoin. This permanently prevents the timestamp drift that was causing inflated hashrate estimates on the explorer. The block explorer now shows a coinbase tag on blocks mined by node operators who have set IRIUM_COINBASE_TAG on their iriumd instance. If you run your own node and want your blocks identified in the explorer, add IRIUM_COINBASE_TAG=YourName to your iriumd environment and restart. Miners on the official pool do not need to do anything — the pool is already updated.

This is a consensus change — all nodes must upgrade before this block or risk a chain split. Hey everyone, Quick update on the Irium Core GUI desktop wallet. We identified a bootstrapping issue that was blocking the desktop wallet from connecting properly to the network — nodes needed stronger peer gossip and runtime peer caching so the app could find and maintain connections without depending on the seed nodes every session. This has been fixed in the main repo. If you are running a node, please pull the latest from GitHub: git pull origin main cargo build --release This update improves how your node discovers and caches peers — once connected, your node will remember peers across restarts and gossip addresses to new nodes it encounters. The network gets stronger the more nodes run the updated code. On the desktop wallet front — the Irium Core GUI full node desktop wallet is nearly complete. The bootstrap fix was the last major blocker for wiring the GUI to the network properly. We are now in testing and expect to release within a few days once everything is validated end to end. Thank you for your patience and for keeping your nodes running. Every node makes the network more resilient.
