My step-grandfather (a grumpy bugger) served with Prince P. in the navy - and long after their mutual service would occasionally go to the palace for cards. There’s a great story of the time he got pulled over by the police on his way there..

@contractorkeith This isn’t a full story. I pay £x into my pension, with appropriate employer matching, which is of course invested. I could reduce my pension contributions to overpay my mortgage but that would be utterly stupid because of the tax relief and employer matching.

Riddle me this. Two packs of the same stuff. 1650ml achieves a claimed 50 washes. So the larger 101 washes should be just over 3300ml. And yet it’s 3131ml. Does Ariel liquid know that when it’s put in a bigger pack it has to be more efficient? Or just a rip off…

The grape vine has done me proud again; this year back to doing more juice (some of which I’ll freeze). It really is as simple as harvest, wash, warm press, strain, chill and drink! 🍇

I knew it would be a good season for mushrooms! Agaricus campestris, picked just now - closely related to the ordinary mushrooms in the shops, but a superior delicate taste and of course free! #mushrooms #foraging

@SueStell Sue, absolutely - one of the best in years. Amazing season for apples, plums, lots of hazelnuts (if you can beat the 🐿️!), chestnuts looking good and hopefully the wild mushrooms will do well too!

@sheebadigeebies Elderly lady in an EV got confused in a car park and hit the accelerator not the brake (and EVs accelerate fast), writing off my car and two others and costing me over £3k. Just metal damaged, not bones in this case. So, nope, sorry. Mandatory retests and no self certification.
