And the cop should yield to someone in the crosswalk, anyway. Can bikers not dismount in a crosswalk in Tenn.?

@JazzDeeApple @RobCarpenter I had to freeze frame several times and look at the biker stop sign on the other side of the road to find the biker stop sign you are talking about, but I finally saw it.

@JazzDeeApple @RobCarpenter If you look at that stop sign closely, we are seeing the back of the stop sign, which is why we don't see the word STOP, and we see the supporting pole of the sign. That sign is intended for cars arriving at the intersection after they cross the crosswalk, not for the cyclist.

@Tonkelberry @BadSportsRefs I used my manual stopwatch from when the game clock hit 0, meaning there was still just under a full second remaining, and there was still about a half second left when the Western Michigan player touched the ball past the end zone.

V1 may not have been valid if they input wrong weights. A late abort could have been a disaster. I have aborted a takeoff in a 747-400, an F-16, and a Gulfstream G500, all with completely different scenarios you don't get in training. I am glad they got it airborne to sort it out. I have over 5000 hours in the 787.

They certainly had some flaps out for takeoff, as you can see the leading edges out at the start of the takeoff roll. I have over 5000 hours in the 787, by the way. It is possible they input the wrong weights into the FMC. That happened to El Al in Tel Aviv once, transposing a digit. For example, if the Zero Fuel Weight was supposed to be 390.0 pounds, and the pilot input 309.0 instead of 390.0, that would allow the FMC to incorrectly give wrong speeds for takeoff, and a lower reduced thrust takeoff than needed to get airborne correctly.

On this Memorial Day weekend, I was pondering how many friends I have lost in combat. It didn't take long to realize that I can't recall losing a single friend or squadron mate in a combat situation. Every military loss I know of personally has been in a training accident. I am reminded that training and non-combat accidents historically, have greatly exceeded combat losses, roughly by 2 to 1. This is a reflection, partly, of the seriousness and difficulty of the training in the military. I can recall, much to the disbelief of current aviators, a time when we would fly F-16A's at low level (500 feet above the ground), alone, at night, with no terrain following radar, no night vision, no radar altimeter, no backseater, no autopilot, just hand flying at 540 knots a few hundred feet above the ground navigating with a map strapped to my leg for reference. That is dangerous work. This is a reminder that peacetime does not equate to less sacrifice.

And weirdly, as a 747-400 instructor pilot at a global airline at the time, I and the vast majority of the pilots I flew with had NO IDEA that stop to stop rudder inputs would snap the tails off. There was nothing in any airline flight manual to suggest that would be the case, no limits. The F-16, on the other hand, had pages of limits.
