We can accomplish much together to provide reliable and affordable electricity. As our energy production shifts to more weather-dependent technologies and climate change increases the occurrence of extreme weather events, more transmission investment will be needed.
Our definition of reliability is changing. It’s no longer just about keeping the lights on 99.99% of the time but even during extreme events like a polar vortex. It’s not just about reliability but also resiliency.
