What do you do if snow stops staff getting to work ? Do staff know what their options are before it happens. Can they work from home, take holiday, make the time back ? If plans are already in place, there should be no need for snow to stop work. #HRTipoftheday

If staff are refused holidays over the christmas period due to all the allocation being taken, there may be a temptation to take a day or so off sick....its important that staff are aware that if holiday requests are turned down they are expected to attend work

Make sure you plan for lower staff levels over the Christmas period, holiday entitlement will be fully taken and there is a higher risk of staff being sick due to colds, flu etc #HRTipoftheday
