Blockchain website wants to bring prediction markets and crypto derivatives to the U.S. but the real story is what it could mean for the future of crypto trading. The company has applied for two licenses from the CFTC: one to operate a regulated event-contract exchange and another to act as a derivatives broker. If approved, U.S. users could eventually access crypto derivatives and prediction markets through Blockchain, instead of relying on separate platforms. There’s already a foundation for this. Blockchain offers prediction markets through Polymarket and perpetual futures powered by Hyperliquid to some international users. Now, it wants to bring more of that experience under its own regulated setup. My take: crypto platforms are competing to become more than just places to buy and sell tokens. They want to bring wallets, derivatives, prediction markets, and eventually tokenized traditional assets into one ecosystem. But regulatory approval is the key. Prediction markets are facing ongoing disputes over whether federal or state authorities should oversee them, so the path forward isn’t guaranteed. The bigger question: will users prefer one platform that offers everything, or will specialized platforms continue to dominate each market? The race to build the all-in-one crypto trading platform is getting more interesting.

Samsung just gave stablecoins a very different distribution channel. Starting in the last week of October, eligible U.S. Galaxy users will be able to send USDC directly through Samsung Wallet, with the rollout covering 82 million U.S. Galaxy devices. No separate crypto app or private-key management is required. And this is the part I find more interesting: Solana and Sui are operating behind the scenes while Samsung handles the consumer experience. That’s probably the real stablecoin battle now. Not “which chain has the best tech?” But which chain can disappear into products people already use every day? If Samsung turns stablecoins into a normal Wallet feature, does crypto finally stop feeling like a separate industry?

Leverage gets interesting when you stop asking “how much?” and start asking “how is it structured?” That’s what makes @2FactorFinance worth watching. BTC-Jr is designed to target 1.33x Bitcoin exposure, while the BTC-Sr tranche sits above it in the capital structure. The key idea: risk is segmented instead of simply multiplied. BTC-Jr takes the underlying BTC price movement first, while BTC-Sr is designed to have a more protected position. A different architecture for long-term Bitcoin leverage. Not bigger leverage. Better structure. points.2factor.finance/r/0l7d51pr

Strategy just hit 848,000 BTC. But the interesting part isn’t the headline purchase. Strategy bought another 334 BTC for $28.7M between Oct. 1–4, paying an average of $85,838.80 per Bitcoin. At the same time, it spent roughly $176.3M buying back its own preferred shares more than 6× what it spent on BTC. That tells me the story isn’t simply “Saylor is buying every dip.” Strategy still has enormous conviction in Bitcoin, but it’s also becoming more deliberate about where capital gets the best risk/reward. The bigger number is the balance sheet: 848,000 BTC ≈ 4% of Bitcoin’s 21M maximum supply, acquired at an average cost of about $75,441 per BTC. So the question I’m watching isn’t whether Strategy will keep buying Bitcoin. It’s whether companies like Strategy eventually become permanent structural holders of a meaningful percentage of BTC’s supply and what that does to the market when available supply keeps getting tighter. Is Strategy building the ultimate corporate Bitcoin reserve, or is this strategy eventually going to face diminishing returns?

Bitcoin leverage doesn't have to mean taking reckless risks. 2Factor is exploring a different approach with its BTC-Jr and BTC-Sr structure. BTC-Jr absorbs Bitcoin's price movements first. BTC-Sr provides a more protected capital layer. Junior capital targets 1.33x Bitcoin exposure. A yield mechanism connects the two tranches. Instead of chasing extreme leverage and risking liquidation, @2FactorFinance introduces a framework designed around more sustainable, long-term Bitcoin exposure. A different way to think about leverage. Less speculation. Smarter capital structure. Bitcoin-focused innovation. points.2factor.finance/r/0l7d51pr

@2FactorFinance Smart leverage starts with knowing when to stop

Ethereum staking just got an uncomfortable reminder: your ETH can be safe while the infrastructure managing it is still vulnerable. MetaMask has begun exiting its affected Ethereum validators from Lido following a security incident involving part of its infrastructure. Here's what makes this situation interesting: • MetaMask says it has identified no immediate threat to user wallets. • Lido reports that the affected validators are being exited as a precaution. • Independent researcher estimates suggest around 17,000 validators holding approximately 523,000 ETH ($1.4B) could be involved. These figures have not been confirmed by MetaMask. • The exit, withdrawal, and re-entry process could take up to 45 days. • During that period, affected validators may miss staking rewards, while possible downtime penalties remain a concern. There's an important distinction here: MetaMask says its staking operation is non-custodial and that it doesn't control clients' withdrawal keys. So this isn't currently a confirmed loss of users' staked ETH. But there's a bigger question worth discussing. We often evaluate staking protocols based on APY, liquidity, and decentralization. Yet the security of the infrastructure operators running validators deserves just as much attention. Non-custodial doesn't automatically mean risk-free. And if a single infrastructure incident can trigger the exit of hundreds of thousands of ETH, how much should users really trust their staking providers? Is infrastructure risk the most underestimated risk in Ethereum staking?
