A tough day for Alfreton 65s on the latest matchday, suffering heavy defeats to Matlock and Willows. Nevertheless, the team played with spirit and commitment - we keep going!

A series of close games on the opening day of the Derbyshire 65s sees no team take maximum points from their 2 games. Heanor lead with 5 points
A losing start or us in the 65s League, going down 1-2 in a tight game against Etwall, before a 0-5 reverse to a strong Derby side. Early days.....
An enlarged 65s League will now feature 7 teams, 3 matches against each team. Phew.......
The DWLF 65s League starts on Thursday at Derby Powerleague. We have matches against new boys Etwall and 'old' adversaries DCCT Older Rams

AGM Captain's Report(3) A Mention in Despatches for Robert Derbyshire was made in recognition for his commitment to the club. Thoroughly deserved!
AGM Chairman's Report(2) The award for Over 65s Player of the Year went to Tony Mott, and Dave Walters took home the Contribution to the Club Trophy for the second year in succession. Well done to both!
Alfretonians AGM - The Chairman's Report(1) Congratulations to Player of the year Graham Baggaley. A special trophy awarded to Tony Bingham for his Captaincy 2015 - 2018 - congratulations also!
In an open and entertaining game, we bow out of the DWFL Challenge Cup after losing 4-5 to Ashbourne. However, this game could have gone either way and there were encouraging performances throughout the side. We now have to keep this standard up when the League begins in October.
Matchday! The first game of the new season sees us take on newcomers Ashbourne in the DWFL Challenge Cup.
A return to competitive action for us tomorrow in the DWFL Over65s Cup tournament. Initially, we are in a group of 5 along with old friends Spirites 65s and Derby CCT and newcomers Willows 65s and Manchester Corinthians - a warm welcome to them...
Monday 30/4 Many thanks to Sarah and Vanessa for their excellent contributions, and also to Jade for being just brilliant in goal. Some of those saves had grown men in tears....
Monday 30/4 - A scratch Alfretonians side takes part in a festival organised by @DCCTOfficial and performs creditably, with a record of P6W2D2L2. Some outstanding defence sees us concede in only 2 games.
Friday 27/4 - despite taking the lead, Alfretonians go down 1-4 to an efficient Heanor Strollers side in the DWFL. That resulr puts Heanor clear at the top.
A weakened Alfretonians side has a difficult day against a full strength Heanor in the DWFL Cup quarter final, Heanor winning 7-1
The search for a win continues as a depleted 65s side suffers losses to Heanor and Matlock, though neither result was a reflection of the performances.
Another round of the DWFL 65s tomorrow sees us take on Heanor and Matlock, still looking for a first win.
