He checks whether the men hanging around them are actually WITH them. The girls say NO. One of the men is stood outside the club in jogging bottoms. The girls look terrified. So this stranger refuses to just walk past and mind his own business. He stays with them and tells the men straight: STOP HARASSING GIRLS. And afterwards? The girls THANK him for stepping in. Chicago kitten torturer and executioner gets 4.5 years - then walks free the same day he reports to prison. Thomas Martel, 25, bought kittens online and named every single one Shelly. He drowned them, mutilated them, decapitated them, and microwaved them inside his Wicker Park apartment. His girlfriend found a Snapchat video of a kitten still alive with the caption “Right before I m*rdered her.” He admitted he had been k*lling cats since he was a child. He pleaded guilty to animal torture and aggravated cruelty. A Cook County judge sentenced him to 54 months. Illinois then credited him with 1,079 days already spent on electronic monitoring. Martel reported to the Department of Corrections on June 23 and walked out the same day. He is now serving six months of supervised release and living in his family’s Northbrook home. This is not justice. It is a free pass for a sadist. Animal torture this deliberate is a warning sign the system just ignored. The incident, which took place in March 2024, was captured on video and shown in court. The judge described Bradley’s actions as “quite appalling” and warned that this level of cruelty is a red flag for future violence. Her owner, #swansea mother-of-two Kimberley Richards‑Miller, has been banned from keeping animals for life after admitting causing unnecessary suffering. Darcy’s emaciated body was taken to a vet on 14 November, scoring 1/9 on the body condition scale. The court heard Richards‑Miller had been told several times to seek veterinary help in the weeks before Darcy died — but never did. A post‑mortem revealed: • Severe loss of fat and muscle throughout her body • Almost no gut contents • Stress‑ and hypothermia‑related stomach ulceration seen in starvation cases • No underlying illness — meaning Darcy’s condition was caused solely by not being fed Vets said an adult Dalmatian dropping from 20kg to 7kg would take around five months on water alone. For a young, growing dog like Darcy, starvation would have taken months, with suffering every single day. Richards‑Miller received: • Lifetime ban on keeping animals • 12‑month custodial sentence (suspended for 18 months) • 25 rehabilitation days • 150 hours unpaid work • £400 costs + £187 surcharge Inspector Keith Hogben said: “It is heartbreaking to imagine what Darcy went through. All animals deserve kindness. A tiny sandwich shop decided to take a chance... They heard Liam Neeson was filming Hard Powder nearby, so they wrote a joke on their chalkboard: "Liam Neeson eats here for free." On the other side, they added: "Come in and get TAKEN away by our sandwiches." They figured he'd never see it. Seven hours later... The door opened. Liam Neeson walked in. In his signature deep, gravelly voice, he looked at the staff and asked, "Where is my free sandwich?" The entire shop was in shock. Although he didn't have time to stay and eat, he happily posed for photos with the amazed staff before heading out. The surprise visit became such a memorable moment that the shop later created a sandwich in his honor... "The Neeson."
