Good question. We have nearly $34 trillion in national debt. It grew by over $1 trillion between July 1 thru Sept 30th. It grew another $500 billion in October. The US Treasury has already announced they plan to borrow another $1.5 trillion in the next 6 months. We are borrowing all of this money we are giving away to other countries. Why do we do it when we are basically broke?

The Alberta Advantage is back... In 2017 there was a merger between the Progressive Conservatives of Alberta and the more rural, more conservative Wildrose Party to form the UCP. Jason Kenney got chosen as UCP Leader and elected Premier. He then took things in the wrong direction. The conservative grassroots revolted, Kenney is gone and now Danielle Smith, a former Wildrose Leader, is Premier. Under Smith, the UCP has effectively turned back into the old Wildrose Party, which is a good thing. At the UCP Convention this weekend, many common sense and actually conservative resolutions were passed by the membership (most with large majorities). What has the reaction been? Probably 100 people have commented in my X posts that they're moving to Alberta in just the last day. They see Alberta's rejection of woke insanity, Covid tyranny and Ottawa's subjugation. They see it and they like it -- a lot! People see, and immediately realize that Alberta can be that one shining beacon for individual freedom and prosperity in a socialist-run Canada where those things are routinely suppressed by governments, institutions and bureaucracies. Alberta is leading the way. At long last. Let's go!

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith's UCP Party: Membership passed all of the following resolutions at their UCP Party Convention: 1) "Ban post-secondary institutions from using race as a factor in any admissions program or procedure." 2) "protect an individual's right to privacy and confidentiality of their health care information." 3) "Protect an individual’s right to free expression." 4) "Protect a medical practitioner’s right to research, speak, and write; and protect Medical Doctors and all healthcare professionals from having their licenses to practice threatened for publicly expressing professional medical opinions in any public setting." 5) "protect an individual's right to informed consent decisions regarding their own body." 6) "Protect Albertans’ right to have access to goods and services using cash and the option to bank with provincially regulated institutions that supply cash instead of Digital Currency." 7) "Require teachers, schools, and school boards to obtain the written consent of the parent/guardian of a student under the age of 16 prior to changing the name and/or pronouns used by the student." 8) "Ensure post-secondary institutions shall be places of free thought and learning of employable skills by eliminating all Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) offices at all public universities, colleges, technical institutes, and trades schools and all adult education institutions. They are not places for indoctrination of identity politics, reverse racism, or radicalization. Any postsecondary institution that maintains a DEI office, policy, or equivalent shall lose government financial support." 9) "Oppose the federal expansion of Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) qualifying criteria to include those suffering solely from mental illness and oppose the future legalization of MAiD as a care option for minor children." 10) "support programs, eliminate red tape, and reduce taxes for the succession of the family farm to the next generation of farmers in our primary agricultural sector."
