@801formal_llama @_Credible_Hulk Medicare for all decreases competition in healthcare when what we need is way MORE competition. Elimination of private insurers, removal of plan choice, and the federal government has total control of all pricing, incentivizing greater government corruption and inefficinecy.
@801formal_llama @_Credible_Hulk Due, you're being willfully ignorant. I posted the AI response, but I also summarized it myself. You're just ignoring both and then asking the question again. It doesn't just change "the way" doctors are paid. It controls what they are paid, regardless of supply or demand.
@801formal_llama @_Credible_Hulk LOL! I give up. Be a fool. I've done all I can do. I'm a teacher, so my instinct is to try to use facts and logic to teach people, but there are always people who would rather be ignorant. I wish you well. But I wish you well in your own lane. Not mine. ;)
@801formal_llama @_Credible_Hulk LOL Did YOU read the response. The first sentence is Medicare for all changes the entire healthcare system. It changes funding, pricing, coverage, system capacity pressure, wait times, and service availability. And M4A specifically limits private options.
@801formal_llama @_Credible_Hulk Yes, we've been disagreeing ;)
@801formal_llama @_Credible_Hulk It does not remain the same. You're ignoring 2nd and 3rd order effects, a bizarrely common problem for authoritarian collectivists (which I know you claim not to be).
@801formal_llama @_Credible_Hulk LOL! Once again, you're talking yourself in circles.
@801formal_llama @_Credible_Hulk I'm not against mandated health insurance. I voted for Obama and supported ACA. I'm against single payer, and I'm against centralized federal control of healthcare policy.
@801formal_llama @_Credible_Hulk I think you're projecting your own ignorance onto me.
@801formal_llama @_Credible_Hulk I like Switzerland's better than Germany's, but I like Germany's better than Sweden's and I like Sweden's better than M4A.
@801formal_llama @_Credible_Hulk 2/3 didn't support ACA. But I hope you're right about M4A. That's so much worse ethan ACA. ACA should have been good (I voted for Obama his first term). But our government is too corrupt. Fixing that is much more important than insurance payers.
@801formal_llama @_Credible_Hulk Yes. It's very competitive, private and public, and very decentralized. Germany manages their healthcare systems at the state level, so it's not bottlenecked at the federal level. It's also half as expensive as Medicare.
@801formal_llama @_Credible_Hulk Me too. But I'd like to change it for the better. ;)
@801formal_llama @_Credible_Hulk You have used it differently. Medicare for All isn't justpublic insurance. It changes the entire healthcare system. If you're just talking about public insurance, okay, but that's not Medicare for All, and you could just offer it as an option, right?
@801formal_llama @_Credible_Hulk Tyranny by the majority is still tyranny. If we can't reach consensus (2/3 is standard, but I'd say 80%), then you don't have enough support to pass any law or policy that isn't already in the constitution.
@801formal_llama @_Credible_Hulk Also, countries with multi-payer healthcare also pay much less than we do. :) Germany's sytem and Switzerland's system would be much more politially viable in the US and would be more efficient and less corrupt.
@801formal_llama @_Credible_Hulk Again, we have the most expensive public healthcare system in the world. Other countries cover their entire population with what we pay for just Medicare and Medicaid. Expanding it won't make Medicare, Medicaid, or our government more efficient or less corrupt.
@801formal_llama @_Credible_Hulk If government can offer a service that is better and/or less expensive than private, then it should be offered as an option alongside private options.
@801formal_llama @_Credible_Hulk But not even if you really do just mean public insurance, I don't want the government to have a monopoly over any industry. None. It's worse than if one corporation had a monopoly over an industry. Your giving corurpt and inefficient people more money and power.
