Saudi Arabia has suspended citizen travel to the DRC, Uganda and South Sudan and stopped issuing visas to travellers from all three countries, including Umrah pilgrims. The ban also applies to anyone who passed through those countries in the 21 days before arriving in Saudi Arabia. Travellers from nearby countries — Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania and the Republic of Congo — face stricter health checks at entry points. No Ebola cases have been recorded inside Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Arabia has officially allowed foreign Muslims to own property in Makkah and Madinah for the first time in history.
The decision was approved by the Saudi Cabinet, chaired by King Salman, on June 23, 2026. It is part of Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia's plan to open its economy and attract global investment.

The Abdullah ibn Abbas Mosque in Taif is named after the renowned Companion Abdullah ibn Abbas (R.A), who chose Taif as his home and remained there until his passing in 68 AH (687 CE), where he was also laid to rest.
The mosque was established by the tribe of Thaqif at a location traditionally associated with a prayer offered by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ during his visit to Taif in the eighth year after the Hijrah. The site has since become one of the city's notable historical and religious landmarks, reflecting an important part of the region’s Islamic heritage and legacy.
King Salman has approved hosting 1,000 Umrah guests from around the world at his personal expense under the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' Guests Program for 1448 AH. The first batch brings 250 guests from 16 Asian countries including Indonesia, Malaysia, China, Japan, and South Korea. The program runs across four batches this year and has served pilgrims from over 140 countries since it began.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Suleiman Al-Amr (رحمه الله) has passed away in Makkah on 19 June 2026, after dedicating more than 50 years of his life to teaching at Masjid al-Haram.
He spent decades imparting knowledge of Aqeedah, Tafsir, and Fiqh to generations of students from across the world — a legacy of scholarship that will continue through all those he taught.
