Hull Box Cup 2026 - Finals day. IBC had 2 boxers in the finals today. James O’Connor (pictured) competing for the 3rd day in a row won via unanimous decision in the final. This is James’s 4th gold medal in a box cup. 🥇 Michael Clark who has been our most active boxer this season with 18 bouts in his debut season for the club. He lost via unanimous decision in the Hull Box Cup final 🥈 Well done to all over the weekend, boxers, coaches and the supportive parents 🔴⚪️🥊

Hull Box Cup 2026 - Day 2 Today was the semi finals of the Hull Box Cup which we consider to be one of the legacy box cups in England (Bristol & Haringey as well). The full results from IBC today, • Michael Clark won via unanimous decision • James O’Connor (pictured with coach Jarvis) won via a 3-2 split decision • Cassian Campbell lost via a 4-1 split decision • Miles Ojofetimi lost via unanimous decision • Dominic Marton lost via unanimous decision Forgot to mention yesterday that Jimmy Clark was withdrawn from the tournament as he medically didn’t pass the doctor. Hull Box Cup 2026 Today began the 1st day of the annual Hull Box Cup. We had 3 boxers compete in 1/4 Final contests. • Teddy Griffin (pictured) lost via unanimous decision • Levi Clark lost via a 3-2 split decision • James O’Connor won via a 3-2 split decision We have 5 boxers competing in the semi finals tomorrow (Miles, Dominic, Cassian, James & Michael). 🔴⚪️🥊

Following notification that the heatwave is to continue into Friday (26th June) we have made the decision to close the Club at 2:00pm tomorrow, resulting in ALL afternoon/evening classes being cancelled. Reinaldo’s lunchtime class will go ahead as planned. Refunds for those who have already booked their session will be generated as a matter of priority. We hope to resume our usual timetable as from Saturday onwards.

‼️CLOSURE‼️ Due to the announcement of severe heat wave weather warnings (red alert) for both Wednesday 24th & Thursday 25th June, in the interest of health & safety, we have taken the decision to close at 2pm on Wednesday & close all day on Thursday; meaning there will be NO CLASSES ON EITHER AFTERNOONS/EVENINGS! Stay safe & hydrated!

Over the weekend, Islington Boxing Club had one representative competing at the Haringey Box Cup, held at Alexandra Palace. Shadrach Olubanjo was our sole entrant this year after three other boxers were unfortunately forced to withdraw due to injury. Olubanjo was competing at U55kgs. Drawn to compete in Saturday’s semi-final, Shadrach won via a 3-2 split decision victory and book his place in the final. Yesterday, in the very last bout of the tournament, Shadrach closed the show, earning a 4-1 split decision win to be crowned a Haringey Box Cup gold medalist.🥇 A fantastic achievement for Shadrach, who continues to build on an excellent season. 🔴⚪🥊

Today, Islington Boxing Club had 5 boxers compete on the joint club show with All Stars ABC & IBC held @ the All Stars Boxing Gym in Harrow Road. • Jimmy Clark - Won 4-1 split • Malachi Ellis - Won RSC1 • Michael Clark - Won unan • Ted Whitelock - Lost 3-2 split • Ismail Khan - Won 3-2 split Jimmy Clark was named boxer of the day for his performance against a good prospect from The Academy Boxing Club. With thanks to Anna Buckley & the All Stars team for giving us the opportunity to team up with you again 🤝 This was our final club show of the season, with only the Haringey and Hull Box Cups remaining for a handful of our boxers. A huge well done to every boxer who has stepped through the ropes and represented the club this season. While I’m not sure of the exact number of bouts we’ve had, it has certainly been another busy campaign with plenty of learning, development, and success along the way. Thank you to all the coaches, officials, parents, supporters, and everyone behind the scenes who continue to support the club throughout the season. 🔴⚪️🥊

Roni Islam was our sole boxer in action last night, competing on the Dagenham ABC open show. Roni put in a determined performance throughout the contest. Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be his night as he lost via unanimous decision. 🔴⚪️🥊

On Sunday, All Stars ABC and Islington Boxing Club are teaming up once again to host a joint show following the success of last season. Come down and support the boxers from both clubs as they step through the ropes for what promises to be another great afternoon of amateur boxing. 🔴⚪️🥊🤝

Miles Ojofetimi competed in the semi finals of the Teesside Box Cup yesterday and fought against an opponent from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Miles won via unanimous decision and will be competing in the finals today alongside the 3 Clark Brothers, Jimmy, Michael and Levi. Best of luck lads 🔴⚪️🥊

Darius Manta won via unanimous decision on the Hayes ABC open show held at their gym. Darius took the bout last night whilst at training and extends his current undefeated run at the club. Well done 🔴⚪️🥊

Capital Cup 2026 - Day 3 - The Finals! Islington Boxing Club had 13 boxers in the finals of the Capital Cup yesterday @ Broadwater Farm Community Sports Centre, Tottenham. We had the following results, • Miles Ojofetimi - Won unan 🥇 • Nawir Ahmed - Won unan 🥇 • Little Mo Shah Hussein - Won 4-1 split 🥇 • Dylan Gibson - Won unan 🥇 • Ashlee Kennedy - Won 4-1 split 🥇 • Hanif El-Hafedi - Won unan 🥇 • Sultan Oke - Won unan 🥇 • Lemar Topper - Won unan 🥇 • Yoshua Betts-Priddy - Won unan 🥇 • James Riley - Lost 4-1 split 🥈 • Nicholas Dorsett - Won unan 🥇 • Hasib Rahman Haidari - Lost 4-1 split 🥈 • Joseph Burton - Lost 4-1 split 🥈 • Yelida Litombe received a walkover. 🥇 Dylan Gibson boxing in the year group above was named as ‘Best Youth Boxer’ of the tournament having boxed 3 times and winning 3 times. As did Ashlee, Sultan, Lemar and Nicholas. The biggest kid of the Senior section, Wojciech collected the belt on his behalf! 🤣 Well done to all boxers and coaches this past weekend, especially in this very hot weather. 🔴⚪️🥊
