On July 4, 1976, Israel rescued 102 hostages in the historic Entebbe operation after Palestinian and German terrorists hijacked Air France Flight 139. The terrorists diverted the plane to Uganda, separated the Israeli and Jewish passengers from the other hostages. Israel refused to surrender to terror, flying over 4,000 km to bring its people home. Three hostages and the operation's commander, Lt. Col. Yonatan Netanyahu, were killed.

1,000 days ago, at 6:29 a.m., Hamas terrorists invaded southern Israel, massacred over 1,200 people and abducted hundreds into Gaza. They thought they could break Israel. They were wrong. Israelis rebuilt communities, replanted fields, reopened schools, launched new businesses, revived tourism, advanced science, treated patients, created art, celebrated weddings, and brought life back where terror tried to erase it. Sunday, SmartAID-Magen 17's volunteer search and rescue team arrived in Venezuela and got to work looking for people still buried under the earthquake rubble in the capital, Caracas. Israeli aid and disaster response delegation to depart for Venezuela Following the directive of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, a joint delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Home Front Command will depart tomorrow (Tuesday) for Venezuela, following the devastating earthquake that struck the country. The delegation’s departure and coordination follows a review by the National Security Council. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs representatives in the delegation will be led by Ambassador Yoed Magen, who grew up in Venezuela. The Home Front Command delegation will be commanded by Brigadier General Elad Edri, Chief of Staff of the Home Front Command. The delegation includes engineering professionals from the Home Front Command, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Additional experts from the Home Front Command and the National Emergency Management Authority are expected to join later.
